Walden University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and a member of the North Central Association
In addition to regional accreditation at the university level, thereare professional accreditation bodies that accredit certain degreeprograms. However, not all programs require or are even eligible forspecialized accreditation.
Walden University is listed in the U.S. Department of Education's comprehensive database of accredited postsecondary educational institutions. The database is searchable by institution name, accrediting body, and geographic region.
The Higher Learning Commission, which accredits Walden University,and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, which accreditsWalden's M.S. program in Nursing, are both recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).
CHEA is an advocate for quality assurance and institutionalaccountability and transparency in higher education. To that end, itworks actively to strengthen accreditation through recognition of 60accrediting agencies. It is a membership organization of colleges anduniversities that share these goals. |
