Doctoral Education (Ed.D.) Specialization ~ Teacher Leadership The Teacher Leadership specialization is designed for educators who want to continue teaching while assuming leadership roles in their school and community. It focuses on the "educator as leader" and empowers experienced master educators to effect change and improve student learning. The program is based on standards developed by the Interstate School Leaders Licensure Consortium and the National Staff Development Council.

Completion Requirements

Walden University is listed in the U.S. Department of Education's comprehensive database of accredited postsecondary educational institutions. The database is searchable by institution name, accrediting body, and geographic region.

The Higher Learning Commission, which accredits Walden University, and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education, which accredits Walden's M.S. program in Nursing, are both recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation (CHEA).

CHEA is an advocate for quality assurance and institutional accountability and transparency in higher education. To that end, it works actively to strengthen accreditation through recognition of 60 accrediting agencies. It is a membership organization of colleges and universities that share these goals.
