Paralegal Studies

Objective:

This paralegal curriculum is designed to prepare graduates to work under attorney supervision in private practices or corporate legal departments. Students graduating from this program will fulfill entry-level roles of a paralegal in the law office.

Curriculum:

The program consists of 90 weeks, 92 quarter credit hours of theory and associated lab and 16 quarter credit hours of applied general education for a total of 108 quarter credit hours in both the day and evening program. Each 10-week phase is equal to 12-quarter credit hours. The paralegal program contains an externship that occurs the final term of the 90-week program for 8-weeks (320-hours), Monday through Friday.

Accreditation

Accreditation is a process by which a school's curricula and operations are examined by a third-party accrediting commission to determine if the school meets applicable standards set by the accrediting commission. If the school should meet the accrediting commission's criteria, the school will receive accredited status from the accrediting commission or agency.

Court Reporting Institute Dallas and Court Reporting Institute Houston are accredited by the Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools to award diploma and associate's degrees. The Accrediting Council for Independent Colleges and Schools is listed as a nationally recognized accrediting agency by the United States Department of Education and is recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.
