If you want to acquire professional skills needed to become an Electrician, one of the Electrical Technology programs at Vatterott College is the right choice for you. The knowledge you gain can lead you to work in residential, commercial, and industrial fields. You will start the program by looking at electrical principles. This includes equipment, lockouts, instrumentation, measurements, transformers, and types of electrical circuits.
You can dig into various aspects of residential wiring, such as special circuits and National Electric Code. You will look at commercial systems and applications, such as commercial lighting, and heating, air conditioning, and power distribution systems. You can become familiar with AC and DC systems, which includes three-phase motor installations, mechanical input control devices, hydraulics, and pneumatics. You will also understand the CAD field in relation to electrical and HVAC drawings.
If you choose the Electrical Mechanic Technology program, you will participate in a detailed review of the National Electric Code through case study projects. You will also look at costing, timelines, and bid proposals. The last portion of the Electronic Technology program covers energy management systems in small and large buildings. You will explore HVAC systems and their energy demands. Either program choice can prepare you for a stimulating electrical career!
