Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Refrigeration Mechanic

Vatterott College is here to meet all of your HVAC training needs. It offers three different levels of training within the heating, air conditioning and refrigeration fields. All three programs start with the same platform. You can be prepared to work in HVAC right from a beginner to an advanced level. This includes positions such as mechanic, senior service technician, and plant and systems operator.

You will first learn about basic electrical theory as it applies to the field of HVAC. You will be introduced to the basic concepts of refrigeration, heating, and air conditioning. You then move onto commercial HVAC and advanced refrigeration techniques. This can equip you with the entry-level skills needed to offer service and maintenance.

The degree programs will then teach you how to design systems based on building components, as well as how to operate programmable logic controllers and develop programs. You will also be shown how to create CAD documents for installing and operating HVAC systems.

The bachelor degree takes it a step further and introduces you to the world of advanced thermodynamics. You will learn how it is used to solve energy problems. You will also be shown how to analyze and apply energy management systems and advanced HVAC systems. You will be able to manage an HVAC project right from bidding to completion. The bachelor degree option also includes several professional development courses. Whether you choose a diploma, associate, or bachelor degree, you will be ready for an invigorating HVAC career. Your choice will depend on what level you would like to start!

Accreditation is a process by which a school's curricula and operations are examined by a third-party accrediting commission to determine if the school meets applicable standards set by the accrediting commission.
