Does your heart break when you think about all the animals out there living in distress and that require help? If you answered yes to all of these questions, you are cut out to become a Vet Tech. You can get on this career path by taking Vatterott College's Veterinary Technician program.

You will take a broad look at the veterinary field and will learn about basic animal care. You will learn about chemistry and equations as they relate to the field. You will discover the anatomy and physiology of domestic animals. The program will teach you how to:

  • Heal and bandage wounds.
  • Produce x-rays and use other veterinary equipment.
  • Prepare for and assist with surgeries.
  • Care for exotic animals.
  • Identify common parasites and administer vaccines.
  • Recognize infectious and non-infectious diseases.

The final segment of the program takes you through a 10-week externship where you will gain real experience in a vet clinic or other animal care facility. This is where you can apply your passion for helping animals and put your learned skills to practical use. Doing so can help you achieve success in your career as a Veterinary Technician.
