Upper Iowa University's Teacher Education Program is committed to preparing teachers who are well-informed, reflective, professional, competent and sensitive to the diverse needs of their pupils. Each teacher education learner is provided with current, practical, applied knowledge and a variety of classroom experiences.

The Teacher Education Program is dedicated to the development of teachers with personal education philosophies and systems of beliefs that encourage a lifelong commitment to inquiry and excellence.

Accreditations

The University is accredited by The Higher Learning Commission and is a member of the North Central Association (www.ncahigherlearningcommission.org) and is approved by the Louisiana Higher Education Board, the Wisconsin Educational Approval Board, and the Iowa Department of Education (for teacher education in Iowa only). The programs offered are approved by the states of Iowa, Kansas (restricted), Louisiana, Texas, and Wisconsin for veterans' benefits. The MBA and undergraduate business degree programs conferred by the Extended University also hold accreditation by the International Assembly for Collegiate Business Education (IACBE).

Members of: National Association of Schools of Public Affairs and Administration (NASPAA) and Council for Standards in Human Service Education (CSHSE).
