MSTM in Homeland Security Management
The
Master of Science in Technology Management program
provides a broad-based core of management competency
in the central business functions, along with
a deep understanding of generic technologies that
enable specific business capabilities.
Core courses focus on a common
management competency, while specializations allow
a student to customize depth in technology toward
the student's long-term career goals. Technical
depth is provided in several specialization areas:
Homeland Security Management, Information Systems
and Services, E-Business, Distance Education Technology,
and Project Management.
The Homeland Security Management
(HSMN) specialization provides managers and practitioners
with the background to prepare for and deal with
a wide range of man-made and natural threats and
vulnerabilities at the community and organizational
level. The curriculum prepares students to perform
security risk assessments and to develop strategies
to mitigate threats to people, physical facilities,
and information-dependent critical infrastructure
as well to plan for and manage operational recovery.
Courses also explore the evolving roles within
various first responder communities regarding
pre-event planning and post-event response.
