Mission
The Global Campus supports a wide range of e-learning and continuing education initiatives across the University. Our mission and vision, as approved by the University of Illinois Board of Trustees, serves the University by supporting its mission to transform lives and serve society by educating, creating knowledge, and putting knowledge to work on a large scale and with excellence.
Admission
You may apply online to a Global Campus program at any time throughout the year. We make it easy for you to apply and enroll.
Student must indicate residency status at the time of application:
- Resident: Illinois residents
- Non-Resident: Non-Illinois residents/U.S. citizens, U.S. Nationals, and Resident Aliens International: Citizens of countries other than the U.S. and residing outside of the U.S.
- International: Citizens of countries other than the U.S. and residing outside of the U.S.
All applicants will be required to submit official transcripts from all prior colleges and universities attended, including prior attendance at any campus of the University of Illinois.
Applications will be reviewed daily, making our admissions process fast and efficient. Once your application is reviewed, you'll be notified by your advisor of any additional documents that are required. Additional documentation may be requested, depending upon your program of interest. Keep in mind that applications received close to the beginning of the intended start term may not be processed in time for you to begin that course
Student Services
Exemplary student services distinguish The Global Campus from other online universities. You will receive personalized one-on-one service from application to graduation. We will guide you through the application process, assist you with enrollment and financial aid, and register you in your first course. We’ll be on hand when you have a question, and we’ll be there to welcome you as a University of Illinois alumna or alumnus when you graduate.
Our online orientation and tutorials will familiarize you with Desire2Learn, our online learning management system. Our advisors and instructors will advise you of resources available to you, and they will define clear expectations. To make sure your experience is complete, we will provide advising and career counseling from your enrollment and orientation through to your graduation
Financial Aid
Federal, state, and private sources of financial aid are available for all students who qualify. The University of Illinois Global Campus utilizes the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to determine eligibility for financial aid.
Once you submit your FAFSA application and any additional documents that may be requested, you will receive a financial aid award notification listing any aid you are eligible to receive.
The Global Campus (in collaboration with the University of Illinois residential campuses) is pleased to offer the following major aid programs:

- Federal Direct loan (subsidized and unsubsidized)
- Federal Parent Loan for Undergraduate Students
- Graduate PLUS loan
- Federal SMART Grant
- State of Illinois Monetary Assistance Program Grant (for Illinois residents)
