The UMA Pharmacy Technician program trains you for entry-level employment in the high-demand Pharmacy Technician field. This focused, hands-on course can be completed in less than a year. You'll learn to manage and fill prescription requests, understand drug dosage and interaction, maintain patient profiles, process insurance claims and more. After completing classroom training and a real-world externship at a local healthcare provider, you'll receive a diploma and be ready to pursue jobs in pharmacies, hospitals, nursing homes and assisted living facilities. You'll also be ready to take the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) certification exam, which can increase your earning potential and open up more job opportunities.
