Master of Education

The major goal of Tiffin University's Master of Education program is to help PK-12 educators more effectively identify and promote high-quality classroom instruction that is aligned with the academic content standards in their respective disciplines. Our courses focus on effective teaching methods and education leadership strategies by providing the right conditions and motivation for learning. TU education faculty members model ways for graduate students to refine teaching practices leading to improved student achievement in their own classrooms.

Tiffin University accepts applicants who have received the appropriate qualifying degree from an accredited teacher preparation institution.

Additionally, applicants for the Master of Education must hold a current or expired teacher's license or certificate from the State of Ohio or one of the member states with whom the Ohio Department of Education has an interstate agreement. Further, applicants whose certificates have been issued later than July 1, 1991, must submit qualifying scores on the PRAXIS II tests. Applicants whose certificates have been issued by the states Iowa, Louisiana, Minnesota, Missouri, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota, Texas, or Wyoming will require further review to ensure that the degree program will satisfy recertification requirements.

Since the Master of Education program is designed to facilitate renewal, conversion, advancement, or transition of pre-existing teacher certificates and licenses, applicants must demonstrate that the initial teacher certification or licensure requirements have been met.
