Due to the aging population and ever-changing healthcare technology, careers in healthcare are among the most stable. With the Medical Assisting program, you'll receive an introduction to the medical assisting profession, medical terminology, and the systems and functions of the human body.
Study medical concepts in theory, then apply what you've learned with real medical equipment, such as recording electrocardiograms for those studying cardiology. You'll also acquire necessary office skills and study the business side of the medical practice along with its legal and ethical responsibilities.
Once you've completed all classes in the program, you'll participate in an externship to receive invaluable practical experience under the supervision of a cooperating physician's office, clinic or other healthcare facility. |
