The principle objectives of the Bachelor of Science in Accounting program are to provide students with a broad, fundamental knowledge of the field, and to prepare students for employment in accounting careers.
Students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Accounting may exercise an individual option, through the selection of elective courses, which may allow him/her to prepare for professional goals such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Managerial Accountant (CMA), or Accredited Business Accountant (ABA).
Many states require additional business related courses to prepare for the CPA exam. Students should consult their respective state Board of Accountancy for further details.
