The Criminal Justice Associate of Science degree program at Schiller is designed to provide students with the knowledge and skills necessary to pursue entry-level positions in the criminal justice field. With an Associate degree in Criminal Justice, students can apply problem solving skills and attention to detail to solve crimes in the community.

The Criminal Justice program is an academic program that includes coursework in both criminal justice and general education, which provides students with a solid foundation in theory, technology and criminal justice skills.

Upon successful completion of the program, graduates will be awarded an Associate of Science degree.

The Criminal Justice program is designed to prepare students to meet the following career outcomes:

• Demonstrate an understanding of biological, sociological and psychological theories of crime, causation and discipline-specific evaluation of human behavior.
• Demonstrate the ability to apply principles of criminal law to criminal justice practice and understand the civil liabilities of criminal justice agencies and practitioners.
• Demonstrate the ability to utilize information and resources to make sound decisions in criminal justice agencies.

Working professionals in criminal justice and social services professions may consider this program as a means of increasing their knowledge in their chosen field and further advance their career.

This program is designed to prepare graduates to pursue entry-level employment in the field, or jobs in related fields, the specific job titles of which may not be represented in the program title.

Additional police academy training may be required for law enforcement jobs.
