General duties of a pharmacy technician include stocking and inventorying prescriptive and over-the-counter medications, maintaining patient medical records, dispensing medications, assembling daily supplies of medication, repackaging medications, preparing commercially unavailable medications, and delivering medications. A strong emphasis is also placed on prescription processing, pharmacology and medical terminology.
