Registered nursing degree (RN) There are three types of pathways toward becoming a Registered nurse; Bachelor’s degree, an Associate degree, and a diploma from an approved nursing program (LPN, LVN). Many specialties are available for the Registered Nurse such as; Geriatric, Pediatric and dermatology to name a few. RN's record patients' medical histories and symptoms help perform diagnostic tests and analyze results, operate medical machinery, administer treatment and medications, and help with patient follow-up and rehabilitation. Having a Registered nursing degree can also be a stepping stone toward a Bachelors of Science in nursing degree (BSN). Individuals who complete a bachelor's degree receive more training in areas such as communication, leadership, and critical thinking, all of which are becoming more important as nursing practice becomes more complex.
