Frequently Asked Questions
How can I get more
information about PTI's tuition?
There are several factors
that make it difficult to directly compare
tuition prices - a PTI education normally
only takes nine months - a fraction of the
time that a traditional college takes -
our curriculum doesn't follow a traditional
semester or quarter schedule, and many of
your supplies are included in the tuition
costs. Because of this, an admissions representative
is the best equipped to show you how to
factor all these considerations when researching
your education.
When can I come visit?
You are welcome to visit
anytime! In fact, we believe taking a tour
is the best way for you to learn about PTI.
Will I be able to
work while attending PTI?
Absolutely! To accommodate
your needs, PTI offers day and evening classes
at the school.
What are the admission
requirements for PTI?
Applicants must have
a High School Diploma or General Educational
Development (G.E.D.) certificate or a certificate
that demonstrates they have met the requirements
of the High School Proficiency Exam. For
applicants under the age of 18, we will
need written approval from a parent or guardian.
Additionally, because
we want to make sure all applicants have
what it takes to succeed in the visual arts
program, we administer an evaluation prepared
by Wonderlic, a nationally recognized student
and employee assessment company.
What if I don't have
a High School Diploma or GED?
We still would like you
to pay us a visit because we can provide
you with resources on where and how to prepare
for your High School Diploma or GED, which
generally takes about four weeks or less.
Regardless of whether you choose to enroll
at PTI or not, we believe that it is in
your interest to acquire your high school
diploma or your GED for any career you choose.
What if I don't score
with Wonderlic's evaluation?
We recognize that some
applicants, although capable, may not have
prepared for the evaluation. If you do not
meet the evaluation criteria, you will be
allowed to re-take the evaluation after
a one week waiting period. Conversely, if
you do well on the test but six months lapse
before you enroll, you will be asked to
re-take the evaluation.
Does Precision Technical
Institute offer on-campus housing?
PTI does not offer on-campus
living arrangements
What is the background
of a typical PTI instructor?
The typical PTI instructor
has spent years working in the visual arts
field doing the type of work that he/she
now teaches at PTI. These dedicated professionals
come to PTI because of the school's reputation
in the industry as one of the best colleges
in visual arts education. The majority of
our instructors continue to be active in
the visual arts field which allows them
to bring current production knowledge and
examples to their students.
