The Medical Claims and Billing Specialist diploma prepares graduates for employment in the areas of medical insurance, physician's coding, and healthcare claims processing. The coursework combines a foundation in medical administration skills with a comprehensive understanding of current computer technologies, as well as a solid groundwork in accounting. Students also gain a thorough understanding of many of the basics of the healthcare system, including medical records, costs of treatment, terms and conditions of insurance, and privileges and obligations of the patient and insurance company.
