Cisco VOIP ![]() VoIP is one of the most innovative technologies to hit the Web in recent years, and it promises to become even more influential as time goes on. This technology revolves around a process with which we are all very familiar, making telephone calls. The difference in the calls made under this new format is the fact that voice streams are being carried by the Internet. VoIP is becoming more and more widely used by businesses and individuals each and every day. Internet calls are essentially immune to long-distance charges, and can be easily linked with other sorts of equipment (such as web cams and monitors) in order to make videoconferencing a possibility in many boardrooms and offices. Regulation of these Internet-calling systems is a concern for many phone companies, just as finding network experts who can run these systems is becoming a priority for the businesses that use this technology. |
