Commercial Drivers License Preparation Program Resident
Hours Break Down
Resident Training/Hours...
Transportation to/from Resident Training:
National Training is attended by students from all 50 states
and several foreign countries. Many of the students who attend
are well within driving distance and drive their own cars.
The school does not provide transportation to or from the
public transportation terminals.
Out of town students, whose tuition is paid, are eligable
to participate in the motel cost rebate program. The School
provides complete vending services for students. There are
also many restaurants in the Green Cove Springs area. It is
the students' responsibility for their food costs. Food costs
can be conservatively estimated at about $10 U.S. dollars
per day.
Resident Training Phase:
Due to the effectiveness of the two phase educational delivery
system the actual operation of tractor trailers can be completed
within a three week (160) hour session. Because each student
has completed the home study phase, we are then able to target
the classroom hours for critical subjects only and reduce
your classroom time to only 32 hours! Before you attend your
first day of school you will have already received training
in such areas as driving operations, DOT regulations, preventive
maintenance principles, accident reporting, etc.
When you report for the actual tractor trailer operations
training, you will spend the majority of your time training
with the truck fleet either on the School's training ground
or on the road. Training days are 10 hours long, five days
a week. Remember, your time here is limited to 3 weeks and
that time should not be taken up studying a lot of “filler”
classroom subjects.
