This program will instruct the student in Wind Turbine Operations and Management, Wind Turbine Mechanical Systems, Diagnostics & Repair and Wind Turbine Siting and Construction. Students will learn the responsibilities of professionals in the Wind energy field including resource management, service, repair, safety, scheduling, and the oversight of operations and maintenance - to ensure that work is carried out using best utility practices.
Additionally, students will learn how to affect good landowner relations, manage contractual agreements, measure utility output performance, and how to determine spare parts inventory and usage. The students will learn how to work with external and internal groups, such as legal, environmental services, construction, marketing, support, procurement and human resources.
Technical subjects will concentrate on maintenance of wind turbine generators with emphasis on preventative maintenance, troubleshooting of integrated systems, problem solving, modifications, turbine data collection and data analysis. Students will receive additional instruction on climbing towers, working in confined spaces and performing under diverse weather conditions. The requisites for Climbing Certification will also be accomplished. Program offered is an Associate Degree. |
