Network Systems Technology
The objective of the Network Systems Technology
Certificate program is to prepare students
with the knowledge, technical skills and
work habits required for an entry-level
position in the field of network technology.
Additionally, the core curriculum of the
program, coupled with professional work
experience, is designed to assist students
in preparing for exams leading to certification
as a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer.
Certification exams may be taken at designated
Microsoft testing centers. Graduates of
this program may install, service and
support microcomputers; administer and
troubleshoot information systems that
incorporate Microsoft® Windows® 2000
Server and Workstation in a simple computing
environment; and provide technical support
for Windows, MS-DOS and Internetworking.
The length of the program
is 36 weeks (classes are offered in a
weekend format on Friday nights and Saturdays).
All students must complete the program
with 36 credit hours. Upon successful
completion of the program, graduates will
be awarded a certificate. This program
is represented to lead to multiple job
opportunities and is not meant to lead
to any particular outcome, including that
specified in the program title. Although
the College will assist the student with
job placement, finding a job is the ultimate
responsibility of the student. The College
does not guarantee that any student will
be placed in any particular job, or at
all.
