The objective of the Cosmetology Program is to provide students with the knowledge, skills and practical hands-on experience to pursue entry-level employment as professional Cosmetologists. Florida Career College’s experienced faculty uses modern equipment and professional grade supplies to train students for a career in the cosmetology industry. The program is taught in curriculum specific classrooms and our practical training areas were designed to replicate a real-world cosmetology work environment. The curriculum is intended to develop students’ technical skills, as well as offer personal professional development. Areas of instruction include a wide range of beauty services, such as: haircutting, hair coloring, hair extensions, cleaning and styling wigs, manicures, pedicures, artificial nails, facials and waxing.

Prior to graduation, students are required to complete the full 1200 hours of training and a State Board Review course to prepare them for the State of Florida Board of Cosmetology Exam. Successful completion of the program is required in order to apply for a cosmetology license in Florida. However, the College cannot guarantee a student’s eligibility to take the exam, or that they will pass the exam or become licensed by the Florida Board of Cosmetology. Eligibility may be affected by a variety of factors, including a criminal background. It is the student’s responsibility to inquire into and understand all eligibility requirements.
