When it comes to jobs of the future, few are more stable than those in the field of teaching. Teachers and teacher assistants are always in high demand. There are positions for teacher assistants and teachers in places from public schools, private schools, daycares, YMCAs, churches and other religious institutions, just to name a few places. Teacher assistants (TAs) are those who support the teachers and the students in a variety of ways. From making copies to helping students one on one, to supervising the class, teacher assistants are a vital part of classroom success.
Teacher assistants can find jobs in a variety of places. Places such as:
· Public schools- the public school systems have most of the teacher assistant positions than any other place. From classroom teacher aides to aides for special needs students, there are often quite a number of these positions in the public school system.
· Private schools- in private schools, the teacher assistant roles are much the same as they are in other places. TAs help teachers set up equipment, supervise lunchtime, make copies and many other things as well.
· YMCAs and other recreational facilities- TAs can find work in such places where full time positions are not common, but steady part time work is and can pay well.
· Daycares and preschools- many daycares and preschools hire reputable and dependable TAs in positions where they will care for the children under the supervision of the manager or boss or teacher.
· Community centers- often times there will be enrichment classes, exercise classes and the like at local community centers. These places often make classes easily affordable, if not free, to everyone in hopes of helping people improve their lives.
When it comes to specialization in the field of teaching assistance, that is when finding TA schools and classes to further one's education really comes into play. If the student wishes to focus on special education in order to help children with special needs in the school environment, it is a good idea to seek training in that area. By doing so, the skills are clearly present as represented by the certificate or degree. Finding a job to fit those skills then becomes a little bit easier, as schools are more likely to hire a special needs teacher assistant who has been to TA schools and gained further knowledge in the field.
While there are not specific TA schools, there are a variety of places a student can take classes and earn a certificate or a degree for teaching assistant positions. Most colleges and universities offer courses that will fit the bill for teacher assistant education. These days there are also online classes offered by many reputable and accredited universities, some with physical campuses in addition to the online option and others that are exclusively online schools. With technology growing by leaps and bounds in many ways all the time, online schools are an accessible and affordable option for many students.
