All economists should be familiar with as many parts of the field as possible.  This means that a general economist will take classes like micro and macroeconomic theory, statistics, business forecasting, history of economic thought, monetary and fiscal policy, international economics, tax issues, accounting, finance, and marketing.  However, perhaps you are interested in specialized marketing economics degrees.  These are often found as concentrations in more general economics degrees.  After all, even if you want to obtain a focused knowledge in the marketing realm of economics, you will still need to take courses in other categories of the field if you are to enjoy a well-rounded education.

Clearly, the pursuit of marketing economics degrees is a way to get your foot in the door to great careers after college.  However, there are many decisions you must make during your years of formal education to make the most of your time.  The first big decision is deciding where you will attend school.  If there is a school nearby that can conveniently enroll you into a program, then great.  Many people are not so blessed.  However, you can quickly learn to take advantage of online marketing economics degree options.  Distance learning is great, as long as you pursue a school that offers accredited programs to give your degree merit.

Finally, you must choose the pace at which you will complete the classes for marketing economics degrees.  Full-time is clearly the option for you if you want to get your degree completed in the shortest amount of time possible, but may only be an option if you are not yet a business professional.  On the other hand, if you are indeed already working in the business field, you should pace yourself with a flexibly part-time program so you can take courses over a longer period of time without quitting your job.
