If you want to pursue a career as a broadcast technician, a video editor or a sound engineer, looking at the various audio video production programs may be a good option for you.  Many employers in the industry are always more willing to interview a person who has experience or a person who has had training through a school program.  Make yourself audio video professional by becoming educated through one of the many schools that offer an audio video program.  You will most commonly receive an associate's degree and you will be prepared to have a successful job.

If you already have a job that allows you to gain experience in audio video techniques, that is always a plus.  However, going to school and using their new technology, you will be well prepared to head into the work field.  Equipment is constantly evolving and new equipment is always being released to the market.  When you chose to be a part of one of the many audio video production programs, you will learn as much as you possibly can.  You will also have the opportunity to apply to be a part of the Society of Broadcast Engineers.  When you go to apply for a job, having this certification will put you ahead of the rest.  

Some of the audio video production programs will include animation, cinematography, 3D animation, motion graphics, screenwriting, audio studio recording, and HDTV editing.  You will also learn how to use various computer programs and specialty cameras.  Since the television industry is always updating and changing, it is important for you to learn how to use the most modern equipment.  You will also more than likely learn internet broadcasting and videoing due to the high rate of internet use.  

When you find a school with audio video production programs that you are interested in, make sure that they are reputable.  If it is a reputable school, once you graduate you will be able to find job placement quickly in a variety of well known television networks, recording studios, theaters, and radio broadcasting companies.  Normally the degree will take fourteen to twenty four months to complete and you will have diploma when you graduate.  Also, the cost in comparison to a four year college is quite reasonable and there are always monetary scholarships and various forms of financial aid available if you take the time to research them and apply.
