Depending on which state you live in or would like to move to will determine the top art school that you can attend.  However, there are a few that are the top art schools in America. These include in no specific order, Rhode Island School of Design, School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Savannah College of Art and Design, Juilliard School, and Brown University.  No matter what school you choose, you need to make sure that it fits who you are and what you want to do with your life.

One of the top schools in America, the Rhode Island School of Design is a small school that gives specialized and specific attention to each individual student.  This is not a school where you apply and then leave after the first semester.  Students, who attend Rhode Island School of Design, stay at there for the entire four years.  It is about $37,000 a year to attend this institution.  Due to the high retention rate and success of the many graduates of this school, it is considered the best.  Another top school is School of the Art Institute of Chicago.  This school has been around for many years and is one of the largest in America.  You can get one of many degrees they offer including arts administration, performance, writing, fashion design, sculpture and many, many more.  You can also get a degree in liberal arts that will give you the knowledge of an artist's role in science, mathematics and humanity.

One of the other top schools in America is Savannah College of Art and Design.  This is a newer school that has quickly made its way to the top of the list.  The emphasis with this school is the ability to study abroad.  They have campuses in Savannah, Atlanta, Lacoste and even Hong Kong.  Students are encouraged to learn in various areas and countries so that they have a diverse knowledge of ideas and cultures.  This is a larger school but has a high retention rate.

When you are looking at top art schools in America you will more than like run across Julliard and Brown University.  Julliard is in New York City and produces some of the top artists, dancers and musicians to date.  The cost to attend is about $29,000, but it is difficult to get accepted.  Brown University is in Boston and allows students to determine their own course of study.  It is an Ivy League school with great attention to excellence.
