Nursing
This course is designed to transition the student from the role of a practical nurse to the role of a registered nurse. The content is based on successful completion and licensure of the LPN and prior studies and work experience. Ethical, legal and theoretical principles, boundaries, issues and challenges facing the professional registered nurse are covered. The LPN is introduced to critical-thinking, therapeutic communication and research processes.
Upon successful completion of the Life Span Transitions Course, the Transition/Bridge students then advance through nursing courses that include more complex concepts in patient care and speciality nursing areas such as mental health, maternal-child nursing, and care of pediatric patients.
