Master of Science in Computer Science-Database Systems

Successful organizations recognize the importance of high-performance database management systems. The effective operation of these data resources offers strategic advantages in the competitive marketplace. Specialized skills are required to design, configure, and manage these data warehouses. The database systems concentration can provide the skills necessary to effectively analyze, design, implement and optimize complex data repositories. Students learn to transform data into powerful information systems for business. According to the U.S. Department of Labor Bureau of Labor Statistics, these skills are increasingly important to organizations and "employment of database administrators is expected to grow by 20 percent
from 2008 to 2018" at the national level.* Local employment markets will, of course, vary.

This program is designed and instructed by computer professionals to teach students to:

  • Apply effective leadership strategies and skills
