BS - Computer Information Systems:

The incredibly frequent and rapid changes in today's business and technology require people who can think and express themselves clearly. The general education component of the degree program is designed to develop those skills and an awareness of the individual's responsibility in society. Technical skills must be balanced with human skills if one is to be an effective participant in the Information Age.

Modern management control is dependent upon an organization's effective use of computer systems. Based on this premise, the emphasis in the Computer Information Systems major is on business applications of the computer. However, many graduates have applied the skills learned in the program to the scientific and research fields. The curriculum provides the student with in-depth expertise in the most popular computer languages, knowledge of accounting techniques, systems analysis and design, as well as operations management of a computer installation.
