 If you are interested in a medical career that involves working directly with patients in a doctor's office or other medical setting, Medical Assisting might be the right career for you- especially if you are careful and can follow directions.
Medical Assisting program is designed to provide you with comprehensive medical assisting skills, including intensive training in four areas:
- Administration- learning to maintain medical records, legal requirements of confidentiality, insurance coding, and other front office skills.
- Clinical - working with patients, taking vital sings and preparing the patient for treatment.
- Laboratory - learning to draw blood, perform a variety of laboratory tests, and giving injections.
- Externship - the 160 hour externship, where you will work under supervision in a doctor's office or clinic, will give you the opportunity to use all your skills and gain confidence in your abilities as a medical professional.
