Helping patients through high technology.
Defined as making images on photographic film by ionizing radiation such as X rays, Radiography is one of the most important applications of medical technology. It's critical in helping to diagnose a wide variety of illnesses, injuries and medical conditions, from broken bones to heart problems. The work of qualified Radiologic Technologists is especially important, providing essential information to physicians in determining their patients' conditions and how to treat them.
The nationally accredited Medical Radiography program prepares graduates with the information and techniques necessary to practice as highly skilled, fully qualified professionals. Situations in which their expertise may be applied include trauma radiography in emergency rooms, fluoroscopic examinations in diagnostic centers and portable radiography at patients' bedsides in Intensive Care Units. Graduates enter the workforce with a clear picture and understanding of the diagnosis and treatment of people in need of care.
