Program offered is a Certificate.
As the number of people owning animals increases, the demand for quality veterinary care rises. Our Veterinary Technology program prepares students to become animal care professionals who work under the direction of licensed veterinarians. Our graduates are prepared to work in all phases of animal care, including surgical nursing, running laboratory procedures, and office administration. Because hands-on care in this profession is so important, the program utilizes a skills-based approach to learning. Students receive formal classroom instruction, laboratory practice on live animals and animal simulators, and clinical experience in the field. This prepares students for a career in a veterinary health care setting. The Veterinary Technology program is accredited by the American Veterinary Medical Association (AVMA) and the Committee on Veterinary Technician Education and Activities (CVTEA). Successful graduates are eligible to take the State Board Examination to become a Registered Veterinary Technician.
