Career Technical Institute’s history dates back to 1949, when our former parent company (Career Blazers) began permanent, full-time job placement services in the New York area. Later, as computer technology automated offices across the U.S., Career Blazers responded with its first learning centre in New York in 1980.

The Washington DC Learning Centre was opened in 1992, and on March 19, 2007, the institution was formally renamed Career Technical Institute.
