Patient Care Technicians (PCT) play a vital role in the healthcare delivery setting, often having more patient contact than any other team member including doctors and nurses. PCTs may assist patients with tasks such as feeding, transferring, bathing, personal hygiene as well as work under the direct care of a nurse. PCTs work in hospitals, rehabilitation clinics, assisted living facilities and long-term care facilities. Careers include patient care technician, EKG technician, phlebotomist, lab technician or ER technician.
The Patient Care Technician Program prepares students to follow instructions, communicate and perform fundamental skills required to perform the job duties of a Patient Care Technician.
