Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Organization and Management - Human Resource Management

Our online PhD programs prepare you to lead, teach or consult in the field of business management from an informed and strategic perspective. Our flexible curriculum allows you to shape your education around personal, career, and organizational goals.

Completing your PhD in the human resource management specialization will prepare you to lead, consult, or teach in a complex and global business environment. You will learn how to conduct and apply research across a wide spectrum of human resource management topics while improving your ability to think beyond traditional boundaries.

Capella's curriculum is mapped to the competencies identified by the Society of Human Resource Management (SHRM®) in the "The Competency Model for the New HR.

Residency Requirements: As a doctoral learner you will attend residential colloquia in addition to your online courses. Taken during specific milestones in your program, you will attend three colloquia, each one week in length.
You may be eligible for transfer of up to 48 credits.
