Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Human Services - Social and Community Services
Our human services PhD program meets the high academic standards of doctoral study and provides a platform for rewarding personal accomplishment. Throughout the program, you will explore and utilize advanced theory and research, critical thinking, and principles of leadership which you can apply immediately in your personal and professional life.
The social and community services specialization is designed for counselors or social workers who wish to teach, pursue advanced research, lead programs, or supervise clinicians. The program offers in-depth study of major community issues, social work issues, and methodology, which will help prepare you to assume a leadership role for social change at local, state, or national levels.
Residency Requirements: As a doctoral learner you will attend residential colloquia in addition to your online courses. Taken during specific milestones in your program, you will attend three colloquia, each one week in length.
