Human Resources Management Certificate Program
The CNU Certificate Program in Human Resources Management is designed to provide practical knowledge and skills for individuals who are considering entering the Human Resources field and those who are currently employed in HRM but who seek to broaden their knowledge base. The program is organized as a broad-based introduction to the practice of Human Resources management, providing an overview of the field and elucidating key areas. Participants acquire the background essential to meeting the needs of the corporate HR department in the 21st century.
Two programs are available. The Practitioner Track is intended for candidates who do not currently hold a bachelor's degree; credits taken toward the Certificate Program may be credited toward a bachelor's degree at a later date. The Professional Track is intended for candidates who do hold a bachelor's degree; credits toward the Certificate Program which are taken at the 500-level may be credited toward a master's degree at a later time. The Certificate Program consists of six courses worth 18 units. There are four required core courses and two courses to be selected from a list of electives. Areas covered include employment practice and law, compensation and benefits, labor relations, human resources information systems, strategic human resources planning and organizational development and change/transformation management.
