Communication Studies
Students enrolled in the communication studies program are exposed to the skills needed to plan, develop, coordinate, and implement programs of information dissemination to promote a favorable view of an organization, products or services and to increase market share. In the process, students can learn to inquire, research, analyze, measure, reason and document as well as the ability to work efficiently and effectively within a professional team environment.
Students can also gain exposure to the legal implications and ethical issues within communication-related fields, an understanding of the relationship and interaction between information and communication in business and society, and an understanding of the impact of emerging new technologies within the communications field. Advanced course work is offered to help students develop a broader understanding of the role of marketing, advertising and electronic business within the field of media communication.
