Software Development

Brown College designed its Software Development program to offer students an intensive training program that can prepare them for entry-level positions in software development and information technology in a variety of organizational environments. The program combines the theory and concepts of programming with hands-on computer experience using practical examples and business-based programming problems.

Students can develop the planning, analytical, and diagnostic skills needed to make a significant contribution to their employer's information strategy and more immediate Information Systems goals. The program stresses the basics of programming as well as the design, structure, and testing concepts common to most programming languages. Students will have the opportunity to develop information systems problem-solving methodologies and gain experience at applying each of several languages.
