Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
The Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) credential is the premium certification for professionals who install, configure, maintain and troubleshoot both simple routed Local Area Networks (LANs) and simple routed Wide Area Networks (WANs) and their components for business requirements.
Gain credibility throughout the IT industry worldwide, with the proven ability to install, administer and troubleshoot computer networks in a variety of environments. Successful CCNAs will learn:
- Internetworking basics, starting with the seven layers of the OSI model, and progressing into the structures of Local Area Networks (LAN's) and Wide Area Networks (WAN's)
- Cisco router Command Line Interface (CLI), Cisco router configuration, and major routing protocols such as link state, distance vector, and hybrid protocols
- TCP/IP protocol, including the use of hostnames, network and subnet addresses, and the major classes of IP address ranges
- Major WAN technologies, including Frame relay, ISDN, HDLC, and PPP
- How to improve network performance by segmenting LAN's using bridges, routers, and switches
