Patient Care Technician I - Danbury

The Patient Care Technician program trains students to acquire satisfactory skills and demonstrate competence in a variety of Nurse Assistant/Patient Care Technician procedures and laboratory techniques. The procedures and lab techniques include, but are not limited to, the study and practices of human needs and communications, infection control and safety measures, body mechanics, vital signs, patient care, special care, and body systems. The Patient Care Technician program places an emphasis on the application of knowledge and physical care/psychosocial skills in a classroom and clinical setting. Included in this program is medical terminology, physiology and anatomy, EKG, phlebotomy, and a CPR and first aid externship which provides the student the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a health care setting.

The Patient Care Technician training program is made up of 300 hours and includes classroom and clinical hours.
