The Registered Nursing program is a professional adult education program containing 71 semester credit hours of training. The graduate of this program receives an Associate of Applied Science Degree in Nursing and will be eligible to sit for the National Council Licensing Examination (NCLEX©) to become a Registered Nurse (RN) in Ohio. Registered Nursing is the process of using knowledge and health restoration, health promotion, disease (illness) prevention, and management of chronic disease to assist individuals and families in successfully adapting and living in a state of high-level wellness. Registered Nurses have a responsibility to be knowledgeable about theories, principles and applications of biological and social sciences. The Registered Nursing curriculum prepares individuals to assume the responsibility for providing healthcare to clients with acute and chronic illnesses.
