Program Length: Morning and afternoon sections, 25 hrs. Per week (30 weeks). Nights, 20 hrs. Per week (37 weeks).

Prerequisites: The student must have high school diploma or GED and pass the entrance exam of BioHealth College to enroll for this program.

Course Objectives: To prepare the students to function at an entry-level competency as a Medical Assistant. Training encompasses a thorough understanding of the duties, responsibilities, skills, and knowledge required of a Medical assistant. To provide the student with the necessary Medical Terminology communication skills to function in today's workplace.

To prepare the student to perform the essential functions, to maintain records Insurance laws and Transcription. To provide the student with a working knowledge of Medical office procedures. To provide the students the knowledge of Human Anatomy, Health Science and Pharmacology, Drug administration. To prepare and teach hands-on Laboratory Urinalysis, Hematology.

Course Description: This program is designed to accommodate with toady's medical environment because Healthcare continues to have a need for skilled individuals, who can be involved with physicians' offices or clinics or hospitals.

This program provides the students with the basic knowledge of and practice in computer skills, Medical Office Procedures, Medical Terminology, Vital signs, Medical records and Insurance Laws, Insurance billing, Anatomy and Health Science, Pharmacology, Hematology and Phlebotomy, among others. Through a combination of lectures and hands-on lab, students will learn and perform administration operations of medical assistant.
