Auto-CAD
 

The Berkeley College Essentials of CAD certificate program is a non-credit, 33-contact hour course developed to provide participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to become competent AutoCAD users. The program is designed for individuals interested in formal training in computer-aided design, interior designers, architects, technicians and engineers.

The program takes a step-by-step approach for students to gain a working knowledge of AutoCAD 2010 commands and menu systems. Specific concepts include: drawing setup, all 2D drawing and editing tools, navigation techniques, layers and properties, text and dimensions, layouts and viewports and basic plotting. This program focuses only on the 2D tools, 3D tools are not discussed.

Through hands-on instruction and assignments based in interior design and architecture, students will be prepared to:

  • Set-up, create and edit 2D drawings
  • Use 2D AutoCAD 2010 commands and menu systems to develop/assemble a construction document
  • Setup drawings to plot
  • Build a library of symbols that can be reused
  • Develop template files with standard settings
  • Coordinate reference drawings

Program offered is a Certificate.
