Averett attempts to create a learning environment accessible to all citizens who feel they can benefit by attending the University. This environment is created by offering courses to students of all ages, on campus and off campus, using a variety of delivery systems.
A non-traditional program, designed for working adults, offers courses of study leading to the master, associate and baccalaureate degrees. Through this program, Averett offers courses in several localities in Virginia, including the Greater Washington Region, Central, Southern, and Tidewater regions. Earn in two years a Master of Business of Administration (MBA), Bachelor of Businses Administration (BBA), or Associate of Science in Business (ASB). In addition, a Certificate in Leadership can be earned in six months (Central Region only).

Averett University offers accredited online degree programs at the Associate's, Bachelor's, and Master's levels.
Associate
of Science in Business
The Associate of Science degree in Business Administration
is designed for those in the early stages of management or
professional career. The program includes a solid foundation
in the arts and sciences as well as introductory courses in
management and business principles.
Graduates of the ASB program are expected to possess an ability to explain the basic principles underlying business and management functions, to demonstrate critical thinking skills, and to use effective oral and written communication techniques.
A maximum of 33 semester credits
earned at other regionally accredited institutions may be
transferred into the Associate of Science (Business Administration)
program. A maximum of 16 semester credits in technical areas
(air conditioning, etc.) may be transferred into the program
through an articulation agreement. All technical credits will
be evaluated on an individual basis. Averett University reserves
the right to determine which transfer courses apply toward

Bachelor
of Business Administration
The Bachelor of Business Administration program is designed
to enable students to work effectively in today's complex
business environment. The program includes, but is not limited
to, courses in management theory, marketing, finance, computer
information systems, economics and accounting. Designed to
provide an effective balance of theory and practical experiences,
the program promotes a complementary relationship between
job skills and classroom applications. Skill development in
the areas of decision making, business communications, and
quantitative analysis are emphasized.
This undergraduate program includes a 46-credit core curriculum which constitutes the major course of study. General Education and elective credits are also required to fulfill the 123 semester credit requirements for the BBA degree. Courses are offered sequentially.
60 or more transferrable credits
(a grade of C or higher) from a regionally accredited institution
are required to enroll in the BBA program. Official transcripts

Master
of Business Administration
The Master of Business Administration program is designed
to assist in the development of the business executive who,
upon completion of the degree, is both prepared and equipped
to fulfill the needs and expectations of today's employers.
The program concentrates on the functional areas of business.
These include, but are not limited to, management, accounting,
finance, economics and strategic planning.
The curriculum is structured sequentially with participants taking one course at a time. Core Curriculum consists of 41 credits. Prerequisite and core courses have been combined in Research, Economics, Finance and Accounting. Most courses consist of between six and eight four-hour class meetings.
The following program objectives prepare the MBA graduate for expanded roles within their organization.
- Understand the total business enterprise.
- Apply effective problem-solving abilities.
- Apply theoretical concepts to real life business situations.
- Perform quantitative and qualitative business decisions using current technology.
- Develop effective managerial decision making using information technologies.
- Use business communications techniques effectively.
- Develop effective decision making skills based upon an understanding of the total enterprise, its role in the dynamic global environment, effective teamwork and business ethics.
- Develop strategies to anticipate and exploit future business opportunities. All courses in this Master of Business Administration program are designed to recognize the global impact on business and industry.

Averett's total enrollment exceeds 2,800 students. More than 900 students study on the Main Campus in Danville. More than 1,790 students study in Averett's statewide Graduate and Professional Studies Program.
