The Associate of Applied Science Degree in Health Information Technology-Medical Coding prepares students for careers in the ever-changing medical records profession. Students gain more in-depth knowledge of medical coding through intense, hands-on courses in addition to a medical coding externship. Graduates will be prepared for employment as professional coders in hospitals, physicians’ offices, outpatient care centers, insurance firms and public health departments..
